Webb House organizer thanks Jefferson Rotary Club

To The Editor:

The Webb House Youth Center wishes to express both our appreciation and our accolades for the Rotary Club of Jefferson as you celebrate 100 Years of Service and Positive Impact for our Community.  Over 20 years ago, youth in our community dreamed of building a new Webb House to replace the old, over-crowded house they’d been using on the corner of Wilson and Madison Streets since 1997.  They had a BIG dream, but Rotary believed in them and their dream and kicked off their fund raising with a $4,000 donation.

In the 20 years since, Rotary has, through grants and donations, done so much to support the Webb House and make it a fun and safe place for youth to gather.  The many youth who come to the Webb House each week enjoy all that Rotary has provided for their entertainment and safety:  an outdoor dodge ball court, permanent standards for the volleyball net, picnic tables, outdoor lighting, a pool table and equipment, three desk top computers, dart board, Bistro table and chairs, television, outdoor basketball hoop, four-player air hockey, IPOD and an MP3 player, improved kitchen storage, repairs, general upkeep of paint, deck staining, carpet, utilities, and a vacuum cleaner to name a few.

Thank you so much, Rotary members, for caring for and supporting Greene County youth.  We are forever grateful to you and the positive impact you’ve made in many lives.
