Ballot set for June 7 primary election

There will be only one local race in on the Greene County portion of the June 7 primary election.

Dan Benitz, Cassie George and James Hedges will be on the Republican ballot for county supervisor for District 3. The winner in the primary will run against Democrat Mike Holden in the Nov. 8 general election.

Incumbent Tom Contner, a Republican, is not seeking another term.

There is no Democrat or Republican candidate for county attorney. Incumbent county attorney Thomas Laehn, a Libertarian, plans to run for re-election.

Deb McDonald, who was appointed county recorder after Marcia Tasler retired shortly after being elected in 2020, will run for election to the office. She is a Democrat. There is no Republican candidate on the primary ballot.

Incumbent treasurer Katlynn Mechaelsen, a Republican, is seeking re-election. There is no Democrat candidate on the primary ballot.

The deadline for nomination papers was March 25.
