Reunion Rendezvous organizers ask for contact info

The Bell Tower Festival will be held on June 10-11 in Jefferson, and this is a traditional time for class reunions to meet.  The Greene County School Foundation welcomes all classes and alumni back by sponsoring the annual Reunion Rendezvous on Saturday afternoon.

Reunion Rendezvous 2019

The Reunion Rendezvous was kicked off in 2019 with great success. This event is held right after the parade from 12:30 to 3 pm on the north side of the courthouse. Decorated tables and chairs are located under the shade of the trees. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets from the parade. Live music will provide an inviting atmosphere to catch up with classmates and family. Tables can be reserved for class reunions. Teachers are welcome to attend, too.

Annie Ostendorf will continue as the volunteer class reunion contact and invites those classes planning reunions to contact her. Ostendorf would like a contact name, email address, and cellular phone number along with plans that have been made for the class.  Contact her at 515-370-1397 or ostee@netins.net.  Beth VanderWilt at the Welcome Center will also take information by calling 515-386-2155 from 10 am to 4 pm weekdays, or email her at info@jeffersonmatters.org   Information on festival activities will be sent to the contact people to share with their classes.

A wide variety of food vendors and downtown restaurants will be available so everyone can plan to get something to eat and drink following the parade and meet up at the Reunion Rendezvous location.   Alcoholic drinks will also be available for sale on the square after the parade and throughout the evening.

The Greene County School Foundation will sponsor this annual event and will have local leaders available to answer questions about the school. Plans to have school buildings open for tours are in the works.

Many classes plan their own gathering during Saturday evening and return to the downtown for the live entertainment. The Plaza Stage area on the south side of the courthouse will have continuous live entertainment at no cover charge for the open-concept festival on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Reunion Rendezvous committee hosts a Facebook page available to anyone and will update it as festival plans are finalized – Bell Tower Festival Class Reunions.
