A prayer service was held February 6, 2022, at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson for Glenda Jean Venteicher, 86, of Jefferson, formerly of Bagley.
The Rev Levi Dawson presided at the service. Honorary bearers were Glenda’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Casket bearers were Mitch Venteicher, Justin Venteicher, Lex Venteicher, Ron Allen, Chuck Dawson and Leroy Allen. Interment was at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson.
Glenda Jean Dawson Venteicher was born July 19, 1935, in Jefferson. She was the daughter of William Everett Dawson and Ollie Jane Wagner Dawson. Glenda grew up in the Greenbrier / Bagley area and attended school at Bagley.
On May 25, 1954, Glenda married Ivan Venteicher. They farmed in Carroll and Coon Rapids, and in 1962 they moved to Bagley. Glenda worked in the fields with Ivan. She helped with livestock, and raised chickens.
Glenda enjoyed caring for others. Through the years, she worked at the Jefferson Manor, Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care and at the Coon Rapids Thomas Rest Haven as a nurse’s aide, retiring after a 35-year career.
Glenda liked camping, garage sales, country music and parades. She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She made candy and baked cookies and breads. Her cinnamon rolls were often served to Ivan and his baling crew.
Ivan passed away January 26, 2010. In 2016, Glenda moved to Jefferson. She died at her home January 27, 2022, at the age of 86 years. In addition to her husband, others preceding her in death were here parents; brothers Wayne, Eldon, and Roger; and sisters Vivian, Wanda, and Rosemary.
Survivors include her children Patricia (Randy) Clark of Coon Rapids, Michael Venteicher of Jefferson, and Daniel Venteicher of Bagley; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Weaver of Washington.
