In Greene County district court Vashara Tametria Gwendo Green, 24, of West Des Moines was sentenced Dec. 14 to seven days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Green was fined $550 with a $83.24 surcharge. She must pay restitution for her count appointed attorney not to exceed $600. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Carlos Carmelo Rojas, 25, of Des Moines is charged with operating while intoxicated- second offense. The case was initiated Aug. 31; the warrant was served Dec. 22.
Cases were initiated during the week ending Dec. 24 as follows: Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 52, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Carly Jene Hubby, 42, of Ogden, driving while license barred; Carlos Carmelo Sierra Rojas, 25, of Des Moines, assault on person in certain occupation; and Richard John Sabus, 58, of Churdan, driving while license barred.
