The Iowa High School Football Coaches Association has selected the coaches for the 2022 Iowa Shrine All-Star Football Classic.
Greene County head coach Caden Duncan has been picked as an assistant coach for the South squad after coaching the Rams to a 7-1 regular season. Duncan will be the South offensive coordinator.
The game is set for Saturday, July 23, at 4 pm inside the air-conditioned UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
Scott Heitland of Dallas Center-Grimes is the South head coach. Other assistant coaches on the South are Jared Barnett of Des Moines Roosevelt; Lucas Stanton of Solon; Mike Stuart of Interstate 35; Donnie Sears of Sidney, and Sean Birks of Audubon
Steven Milder of West Central (Maynard) is the head coach of the North. His assistants are Tim Lovell of Linn-Mar (Marion), Jim Tighe of Spencer, Derrick Elman of Humboldt, Chad Beerman of Waukon, Brad Schmit of Columbus Catholic (Waterloo), and Eric Walkingstick of Akron-Westfield.
The 2022 game will be the 50th in the series, which has raised more than $2,860,000 for the Shrine Hospitals for Children.
Player rosters for the July 23 game will be announced at a later date.
