In Greene County district court Suanne Elaine Winters, 50, of Bayard was sentenced Nov. 5 to 30 days in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing injury, amended from domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. All but five days of the jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She must pay victim restitution, a $430 fine with a $64.50 surcharge, and restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $600. Court costs were $100. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Seth Anthony Hankins, 24, of Des Moines, driving while license revoked; Scot Michael Picknell, 23, of Churdan, possession of marijuana; and Hunter Michael Davis, 22, of Cooper, possession of marijuana. Trial dates were set for Jan. 25, 2022, in every case.
Cases were initiated as follows: Nyadhour Riek Deng, 23, of San Diego, CA, unlawful manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to deliver marijuana- not more than 50 kg, and failure to affix tax stamp; Kelsey Jean Brooks, 34, of Des Moines, possession of marijuana; John Patrick Mahlberg, 26, of Dawson, operating while intoxicated; and Robert Michael Guzman Jr, 26, of Carter Lake, possession of marijuana- second offense.
