The Greene County volleyball team took on the Saydel Eagles on Oct. 12 on the Eagles’ home court, winning 3-0 and increasing their record to 15-9 for the season.
The Rams overtook the Eagles right away in the first set, going 25-11 to start the night. The next two sets also went to the Rams, ending 25-17 and 25-23.
The team was strong on the offensive side with 43 kills altogether. Emma Shipley claimed 11 kills, Natalie Heupel and Isabella Schroeder had nine each, and Brianna Habben added five to the total. Kaylee Stalder and Emma Ewalt each had four kills and Katrina Heupel had one. The team served at 91.8-percent efficiency.
On Saturday the team traveled to Winterset to take part in a tournament. The team faced off against Winterset, Webster City and Red Oak, losing all three matches.
The Rams were able to win one set against Winterset, but ultimately lost 2-1. The matches against Webster City and Red Oak each ended 2-0 with the Rams unable to get ahead of either team.
