GJ fire chief Kersey will vote ‘yes’ in casino vote

Letter to the editor,

I would like people to vote “Yes” for the continuance of the gaming license of Wild Rose Casino.

The casino has given more than $14 million in donations and tax benefits since their opening more than six years ago.

I believe that they have helped the communities by providing money for projects that might not have been done otherwise. The town of Grand Junction has used their donations to resurface the basketball court, sidewalks in the downtown area have been redone, and the swimming pool gutters are to be rebuilt early spring of 2022.

The casino also provides entertainment for this area. Besides gambling, there have been musical concerts, comedians, and MMA events. They have also hosted the Greene County high school prom.

Wild Rose Casino has been very beneficial for the communities and residents of Greene County. I am encouraging everyone to vote “YES” on November 2nd in hopes to continue all the great projects and entertainment by Wild Rose in the future.

Brett Kersey, Grand Junction fire chief
