Young ghosts and goblins and their parents can mark Thursday, Oct. 28, as the day for Halloween activities in Jefferson.
The Jefferson parks and recreation department kicks off the festivities by inviting costumed children to an open house-style Halloween party at the Greene County Community Center from 3:45 to 5 pm. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. There is no charge.
Next, children are invited to “Trick or Treat Around the Square” from 4:30 to 6 pm. Children may start from any location and walk counterclockwise around the exterior perimeter of the square. Businesses and organizations will be handing out treats for children.
Businesses, churches, or organizations that would like to hand out treats are asked to contact Beth at the Welcome Center at 386-2155 or email at info@jeffersonmatters.org.
The next activity is the Story Walk on the lawn of the Jefferson public library from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Finally, the Greene County middle school musicians will present a special Halloween concert at 7 pm at the middle school auditorium. All are welcome.
