Greene County and Paton-Churdan high schools will celebrate homecoming next week, Sept. 27-Oct. 2.
The GrCo student council invites the community to participate in a dress-up contest, using the same daily themes as the students. Community members and businesses should take photos and tag them “Ram Fanatic” on Facebook. Winners will be announced at halftime of the football game and presented with a new traveling trophy.
High school seniors will select the homecoming court Sept. 23. The court will be announced to the public the following day.
Homecoming activities are planned as follows:
Sunday, Sept. 26
- Boys volleyball, 1 pm, GrCo HS gym. Admission: non-perishable food item for the ARC food pantry
- Paton-Churdan Coronation, 4-m, P-C gym
- Powderpuff football, 7 pm, Linduska Field in Jefferson. Admission: non-perishable food item for the ARC food pantry
Monday, Sept. 27
- Dress Up Day: Dress to Impress (Picture Day)
- JV football vs Roland-Story, 6 pm, Linduska Field
Tuesday, Sept. 28
- Dress Up Day: Pajama Day
- Volleyball vs W. Marshall here, JV at 5 pm, varsity at 6:45 pm. Pork burger tailgate supper for free will donation, first 50 students receive ticket for free popcorn.
Wednesday, Sept. 29
- Dress Up Day: Opposite Day
Thursday, Sept. 30
- Dress Up Day: Throwback Thursday
- Cross Country Meet at Perry, 5 pm
Friday, Oct. 1
- Dress Up Day: Ram Spirit Showdown
- Homecoming parade: leaves from Linduska Field parking lot at 2:15 pm. Floats will travel north on Chestnut St and go around to the east side of the square.
- Coronation will follow the parade at approximately 3 pm on the south side of the courthouse
- GrCo and P-C court will be introduced prior to the football game at 6:45 pm
- Football game, Greene County vs. Red Oak, 7 pm at Linduska Field
