How many of us take time to look at the trees around us? Four local experts will lead a walk focused on trees at Squirrel Hollow Park. On Thursday, Sept. 30, at 2 pm Trees Forever’s Brad Riphagen will join Greene County conservation director Tanner Sheuermann and Conservation’s Dan Sayre and Joe Allen for an educational tree walk.
This free walk at Squirrel Hollow is a chance to stop and notice the trees. Walkers will consider species (bark and leaves), as well as growing conditions. The walk follows a successful tree walk at Spring Lake Park in May. It’s an opportunity to learn about trees while enjoying a walk in the fall air.
No registration is required. Participants should bring their tree-related questions and walking shoes, and meet at the Squirrel Hollow shelter house. The tree walk is hosted by the Jefferson tree committee.
