Iowa Central Community College has three adult education classes scheduled in September at the Career Academy located at the Greene County High School in Jefferson.
Tailgating 101 and 102 is a fun and educational offering. Todd Gordon will teach the first class on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 8 pm. Participants will learn some new options for their tailgate meals, and sample his original loose meat sandwiches made on Gordon’s Blackstone, and his egg breakfast dish and smoked bologna sliders.
The recipes will be provided. Participants must register before Sept. 6.
Tailgating 102 is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 21, also from 6:30 to 8 pm. Participants will learn how to “up your game” on the grill with local entrepreneur Nathan Nelson featuring his line of rubs and grilling tips. Samples will be provided plus free seasonings. Registration is open through Sept. 19.
Cost of each class is $15.
An emergency medical responder class will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays Sept. 21 – Nov. 19, from 6 – 10 pm. Persons who complete this training will have the education to assist on fire departments and ambulance services. Persons who want more information can contact Paul Arens at 515-574-1300.
