The Greene County supervisors will hold a special meeting Thursday, July 15, at 8:30 in the board room at the courthouse.
The only agenda item, listed at 8:45, is to approve an addendum to the purchase agreement with Midland Power Cooperative for the office building and property on E. Lincoln Way. The building is being remodeled for use as law enforcement center offices.
The addendum calls for Midland Power to cover costs association with the transaction, including the cost of the title opinion, the county’s legal publication costs, and surveying. In exchange, the county will pay a higher interest rate in the first year of the installment contract (3 percent rather than 2.22222 percent.) The interest rate will be 2.22222 percent for the remainder of the agreement.
That is the only change in the agreement, according to county attorney Thomas Laehn.
