The Greene County Historical Society’s Fairgrounds Annex will be open Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, from 10 am to 7 pm, during the Greene County Fair.
The annex is full of inventions, gadgets and memorabilia of rural life in the first 100 years of the county. Historical Society members will serve as docents.
The restored one-room country school, Bristol No. 7, aka the Minnehan school, located on the fairgrounds, will be open Friday and Saturday from 2 to 6 pm. Historical Society board member Becki Cunningham, who attended a one-room country school, will host visitors.
Jerry Roberts and Chuck Offenburger, both veteran journalists and Historical Society members, will continue a 5-year tradition of leading ‘History Chats” on different topics of local interest Friday and Saturday at 11 am and 1 pm. Questions and observations from audience members are welcome.
There is no admission for any of these events.
