Greenbrier 4-H club – At their June 14 meeting the Greenbrier 4-H club began preparations for the 2021 Greene County Fair. Conner Allender led her final Greenbrier meeting by explaining how important it is to fill out fair documents carefully. During the meeting various forms for livestock and static projects going to the fair were discussed and handed out. Also, Greenbrier’s responsibilities at the fair were reviewed.
Thank you notes were written to Home State Bank for fair T-shirts they are providing each member; and to Farmers Mutual and Complete Insurance for food punch cards for Clover Café at the Greene County Fair.
4-H members were remined of animal workshops already in progress and poultry pullorum testing and rabbit tattooing that will take place on Saturday, June 26, at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
Callie Boholz was introduced as a new Greenbrier member.
Kaleah Messer did a presentation on her experience raising a litter of Vizsla puppies. Hermits crabs was the subject of Adya Messer’s report.
Ilse Hooper explained the purpose and uses of annotating books or poems. And Emma Halterman told her history of getting into showing horses.
Refreshments were provided by Kaleah and Adya Messer. Greenbrier will meet at the fair, with their next formal meeting being Sept. 13 at 7 pm in Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
