Greene County district court, week ending June 11

In Greene County district court disposition was entered June 2 against Tammy Ann Tolsdorf, 54, of Grand Junction after she pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with official acts, amended from perjury. Tolsdorf was fined$250 with a $37.50 surcharge. She must pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $106.50 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Brandon Lee Kious, 37, of Jefferson was sentenced June 11 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- second offense. The prison term was suspended. If he ever serves the sentence, it will be concurrent to a prison sentence in another Greene County cases. Kious was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $650 and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Candice Marie Ortiz, 33, of Grand Junction was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault while display dangerous weapon, amended from burglary- first degree. The prison term is consecutive to the term in an operating while intoxicated case. The prison term was suspended and Ortiz was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Kole Alexander Higgins, 26, of Glidden was sentenced to 75 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Twenty-four counts of driving while license barred were dismissed. Court costs were $135. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Brian Joshua Rongved, 40, of Gowrie was sentenced June 3 to 10 days in jail after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of driving while license barred. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $600. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Darren Scott Lehrkamp, 28, of Scranton was sentenced to 10 days in jail after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree. He was fined $855 with a $228.25 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $443 victim restitution, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $300, and $100 court costs. A charge in magistrate court against Lehrkamp of public intoxication was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Austin Damian Wolfe, 23, of Des Moines, harassment- second degree; Erica Kay Murphy, 30, of Jefferson, assault on persons in certain occupation causing bodily injury; Mark Haase, 35, of Ogden, domestic abuse assault- second offense; Noah Adam Bowen, 20, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; and Paityn Bobby Jo Harrison, 20, of Fort Dodge, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Aug. 24 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that James Warren Matthews Jr, 24, of Ogden has been charged with possession of marijuana. The warrant was issued 12/16.2020 and returned 6/01.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Rene Omar Guzman, 44, of Grand Junction, in three separate cases, assault while display dangerous weapon, criminal mischief- second degree, and willful injury causing bodily injury; Benito Cervantes Ortiz, 64, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Luke Blakeman, 28, of Perry, operating while intoxicated and child endangerment; and David A. Tibben, 37, of Scranton, assault while display dangerous weapon.
