To the editor,
The past year has certainly been challenging in a multitude of ways for all of us. We’ve dealt with isolation, sickness, loneliness, economic uncertainty, frustrations with rules, schools, and countless other issues.
For many children and families, life was challenging even before we were all forced to deal with the coronavirus. For some, life has always been challenging and uncertain. These are the children that have been the highest priority for the women of Beta Tau Delta for many, many years. The health and welfare of our Greene County children is very important to us – physical well-being, mental health, emotional stability, academic advancement, athletic and musical endeavors, and just basic needs.
Every year, the fundraising efforts of Beta Tau Delta help meet the challenges that so many of our youth are forced to deal with and address issues that are priority concerns for kids in our county. For more than a century, we have helped provide for the needs of thousands of children – everything from critical needs for children at risk to post high school scholarships, athletic opportunities, library programs, head lice kits, dental care, the annual zoo trip for all Greene County first graders and countless other endeavors.
This year the response to or fundraising appeal was outstanding! We extend our very sincere Thank You to every person who contributed to this effort. Your donations will make it possible for us to identify and meet the needs of disadvantaged children, homeless youth, the developmentally disabled, sick children, families in emergency situations, athletes, musicians, graduating students, and on and on.
Most us just don’t realize how many our Greene County children are truly in need. Thank you for joining with us in making so many things possible for so many kids.
