Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Wednesday, March 31: Routine activity reported.
Tuesday, March 30: At 8:30 am the Greene County sheriff’s office conducted a search warrant at 1819 6th St, Perry. The Dallas County sheriff’s office, Perry police department, and the Iowa state fire marshal’s office assisted. Stolen property, drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, and a suspected improvised explosive device were seized. Charges are pending lab results. At 2:56 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 1800 block of 265th St in Grant Township.
Monday, March 29: At 5 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a utility pole leaning near County Road E-57 (290th St) and V Ave west of Rippey. At 7:13 pm a deputy assisted with locating a juvenile who left Carroll on a UTV. The UTV and juvenile were located in Grand Junction. At 7:22 pm a deputy arrested James Moreland Jr, 46, of Perry for ongoing criminal conduct and a controlled substance violation*. At 11:05 pm Justin Lopez, 23, of Jefferson was arrested for flight to avoid prosecution, a violation of probation, and failure to appear*.
Sunday, March 28: At 1:05 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with locating a runaway juvenile in the 200 block of W. McKinley St. At 3:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of found narcotics at Cartwright and Howard Sts in Rippey. At 3:48 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1800 block of M Ave in Greenbrier Township.
Saturday, March 27: At 12:25 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 30 near C Ave west of Scranton. Jordan Holly, 19, of Scranton was cited for driving while license suspended. There was also suspected illegal narcotics found in the car. There will be more charges pending lab results. At 5:30 pm a deputy arrested Chaz Harvey, 23, of Grand Junction for a Boone County arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time*. At 8:29 pm a deputy investigated a fire on 2nd St in Rippey.
Friday, March 26: At 1:25 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a search of a residence in the 400 block of S. Olive St. At 5:03 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 700 block of Main St in Scranton. At 2:50 pm a deputy investigated a fight in the 1000 block of Railroad St E in Grand Junction. Candice Ortiz, 33, of Grand Junction was arrested for an arrest warrant for failure to appear*.
Thursday, March 25: At 2:27 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Grand Junction. At 9 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 900 block of 222nd St in Jackson Township. At 9:59 am a deputy assisted Grand Junction light plant staff with a disconnect. At 8 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1000 block of Sandoe St E in Grand Junction. At 8:24 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 at Oakland Ave east of Jefferson. Ronald Brubaker, 66, of Carroll struck a deer with a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville, causing an estimated $2,000 damage to the vehicle.

Saturday, March 20: At 7:22 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 2300 block of Sherwood Ave in Washington Township.
Friday, March 19: At 12:15 am the sheriff investigated a complaint of mail fraud at the LEC. At 4:58 am the sheriff investigated a complaint of littering on Rushview Drive in Jefferson. At 11:45 am a deputy arrested Carly Hubby, 42, or Grand Junction for a violation of probation*. At 2:34 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of Main St E in Grand Junction. At 4:50 pm Martenaze Williamson, 29, of Carroll was booked into the jail for an arrest warrant out of Illinois for failure to appear. At 7:13 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 200 block of S 19th St in Grand Junction. At 9:57 pm a deputy investigated illegal activity in the 100 block of Ram Dr in Jefferson.
Thursday, March 18: At 7:49 am a deputy investigated a burglary to the county secondary roads shop in Rippey. At 10:14 am a deputy investigated suspicious construction equipment that was near the overpass in Grand Junction. The construction equipment was stolen out of Boone County.
Wednesday, March 17: At 11:51 am a deputy arrested Katarina Stilson, 23, of Paton in the 1200 block of Highway 4 for driving while license revoked.*
Tuesday, March 16: At 10:13 am the Greene County sheriff’s office with the assistance of the Jefferson PD conducted a search warrant at 205 N. Locust St in Jefferson. Suspected methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia were located. Charges are pending lab results. At 11:20 am the Greene County sheriff’s office with the assistance of the Jefferson PD conducted a search warrant at 204 N. Maple St in Jefferson. Suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, prescription drugs, and drug paraphernalia were located. Sean Shell, 45, of Jefferson was arrested for a controlled substance violation, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of prescription medication, and possession of drug paraphernalia*. More charges are pending lab results. At 2:44 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of mud and manure on the roadway on County Road P-46 (W Ave) near 250th St in Junction Township. At 7:34 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 100 block of N. Olive St in Jefferson. At 8:18 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 700 block of School St in Churdan. At 10:37 pm a deputy assisted a motorist on N. Grimmell Rd near Highway 30. The driver, Nellie Petterson, 40, of Jefferson was arrested on a Webster County arrest warrant for failure to appear.
Monday, March 15: At 7:46 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 2300 block of Sherwood Ave in Washington Township.
Sunday, March 14: At 1:39 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping on County Road E-53 near I Ave in Jackson Township.
Saturday, March 13: At 3:48 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an assault in the 100 block of N. Vine St. At 12:53 pm a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Highway 4 near 310th St in Franklin Township. Terry Stickel, 62, of Woodward went to pass a farm implement as it started to turn. Stickel’s vehicle struck the front left tire of the implement causing, his 2007 Buick Lucerne to spin around and enter the west ditch. Damage to Stickel’s vehicle was estimated at $15,000. The RoGator farm tractor, driven by Mathew Royster, 39, of Webster City had no damage. There were no injuries and no citations issued.
Friday, March 12: At 1:25 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of suspicious in the 1200 block of Stanton St in Scranton. At 7:06 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1700 block of Quaker Ave in Grant Township. At 8:32 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 1000 block of Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 11:06 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 500 block of 16th St in Grand Junction.
Thursday, March 11: At 3:31 am a deputy assisted with an unruly child in Grand Junction. At 1:53 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 500 block of Main St W in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, March 10: At 3:37 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 100 block of E Percival St in Rippey. At 12:22 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 800 block of V Ave in Junction Township.
Tuesday, March 9: At 8 am a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 2000 block of T Ave in Washington Township. At 3:23 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 700 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 10:29 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a complaint of trespass and harassment in the 400 block of N Wilson Ave.
Monday, March 8: At 7:27 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 200 block of Anyer St in Dana. At 8:45 am a deputy returned a lost dog to its owner in the 1600 block of 255th St in Greenbrier Township.
Sunday, March 7: At 11:51 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Saturday, March 6: At 12:30 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 300 block of 7th St S. in Grand Junction.
Friday, March 5: At 1:09 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on the roadway on County Road E-26 (170th St) near Highway 144 west of Dana. At 5:38 pm a deputy investigated a dog running at large in the 500 block of Main St E. in Grand Junction. At 5:51 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 900 block of Hills Ave in Churdan.
Thursday, March 4: At 6:02 pm a deputy investigated an injured raccoon in the 700 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, March 3: At t1:16 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 2400 block of 337th St in Washington Township. At 4:51 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Tuesday, March 2: At 9:49 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of 3rd St in Rippey. At 10:10 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 500 block of 3rd St in Rippey. At 11:35 am a deputy investigated a complaint of bank fraud in the 200 block of V Ave in Paton Township. At 12:38 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 100 block of E. Percival St in Rippey. At 3:54 pm a deputy investigated complaint of bank fraud in the 500 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 6:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 400 block of 210th St in Kendrick Township. At 8:46 pm a deputy investigated a possible anhydrous leak near Cooper.
Monday, March 1: At 6:19 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 144 near 200th St north of Grand Junction. Brian Jackson, 50, of Gowrie struck a deer with a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer, causing an estimated $4,000 in damage to the vehicle. At 6:19 am a deputy investigated a second car-deer accident on Highway 144, one-mile south of the previous one. Jeremy Kennedy, 40, of Grand Junction struck a deer with his 2020 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. At 8:39 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton. At 7:10 pm Lawrence Knox, 25, of Emmetsburg was booked into the jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia*.
