The First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson was recently awarded two
mission partnership grants through the North Central Iowa North Central Iowa Presbytery. The local mission team applied for grants to benefit Adopt-a-Family and the food pantry at Greene County Schools.
The Adopt-a-Family board works to brighten the holidays for Greene
County families in need. The volunteer board served more than 150 families in 2020, providing holiday food gift cards. The mission partnership grant will provide $1,500 to help defray the cost for 2021.
The food bank at Greene County High School provides food and
other necessities for K-12 students. The mission partnership grant of $1,500 will go to provide students access to hygiene and personal care items like shampoo, toothpaste and feminine care items. These dollars will also be used for things like new shoes
and haircuts.
