The 14-day positivity rate for Covid-19 testing in Greene County is 3.1 percent as of Thursday morning, Feb. 18.
Greene County public health director Becky Wolf reported no new cases diagnosed in the previous 24 hours, with eight new cases in the previous three days, 18 new cases in the previous seven days, and 35 new cases in the previous 14 days.
Of the 782 total cases among county residents, 90 are “active” cases. Ten county residents have died from the illness.
Despite relatively low positivity rates, Wolf encourages county residents to continue to wear a face mask and maintain a 6-foot social distance from others when in public. She is particularly concerned about variant strains of the virus that are more highly contagious than the strain first identified last year.
