Applications for scholarships offered by the Greene County Medical Center Foundation and the auxiliary are now being accepted with a deadline of March 17, 2021.
The medical center foundation offers healthcare scholarships of up to $1,000 per year for up to four years to persons in the Medical Center service area who are entering or are already attending college in a healthcare field.
In addition, the medical center’s auxiliary offers $500 scholarships to persons in the medical center service area who are entering or are already attending college in a healthcare field. The auxiliary scholarship requires a 15-minute interview, which will be scheduled either on the morning of Saturday, April 3, or the afternoon of Wednesday, April 7.
The purpose of both scholarships is to lend financial aid to students in Greene County or the Greene County Medical Center service area to help obtain nursing education or education in a health-related field, and to assure an adequate supply of healthcare professionals to help meet the needs of the Greene County Medical Center.
Scholarship applications, as well as references and transcripts, are due by Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Interview appointments can be set up immediately.
Complete rules, application forms and requirements have been sent to area high schools and are also available on the Medical Center website at gcmchealth.com. Look under the “about us” tab and click on scholarships.
All applications, references and transcripts must be sent or delivered to Tori Jamison, administrative assistant, at Greene County Medical Center. For more information or to set up an interview appointment, contact Jamison at 515-386-0102.
Additional healthcare scholarship opportunities are available through the Iowa Hospital Education Research Foundation (IHERF), an Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) subsidiary.
