Three consecutive days with no new cases diagnosed
Greene County public health has re-opened a waiting list for persons in Tier 1B for receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. All persons age 65 and older are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine during Phase 1B.
As of Jan. 26, persons who are eligible in Tier 1B can complete an online waiting list request at https://hipaa.jotform.com/210254625890152; email public health at covid@gcmchealth.com; or call 515-386-0564.
Persons younger than 65 are tiered in Phase 1B as follows:
Tier 1
- First responders (firefighters, law enforcement, dependent adult abuse and child welfare social workers)
- PK-12 school staff, early childhood education, and childcare workers
Tier 2:
- Food, agriculture, distribution and manufacturing workers who work in or live in congregate setting that do not allow for social distancing
- Individuals with disabilities living in home settings and their direct care staff
Tier 3:
- Staff of and individuals living in congregate settings (does not include college dormitories)
- Governmental officials, to ensure continuity of government including staff, engaged in state business at the Iowa Capitol during the legislative session
Tier 4:
- Inspectors responsible for hospital, long-term care, child safety
Tier 5:
- Correctional facility staff and individuals incarcerated
In collaboration with multiple community vaccine providers, doses will be administered at Greene County Family Medicine Clinic, McFarland Clinic, Medicap and Hy-Vee pharmacies, and Greene County Medical Center occupational health.

“We ask for your patience and kindness as we move forward in this monumental project,” Greene County director of public health Becky Wolf said.
Also, the 14-day positivity rate for Covid-19 testing in Greene County is at 7.6 percent as of Tuesday morning, Jan. 26.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the county is 731. For the second day in a row, Wolf reported there have been no new cases in the last 24 hours. There have been no new cases in the last three days, 11 in the last seven days, and 37 new cases in the last 14 days. Of the total, 88 are active cases.
