The Greene County Cattlemen are making preparations for their annual banquet to be held Saturday Feb. 27, at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Social hour begins at 6 pm with a New York Strip steak dinner served at 6:30.
The Cattlemen will follow Covid mitigation protocols set forward by the governor and Greene County leaders. “If you are not comfortable in attending, we understand,” a spokesperson said.
A final decision about the event will be placed on local news media and the Greene County Cattlemen’s Facebook page the week prior to the event. “If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to Covid, please stay home and contact a board member if you have interest in purchasing a trophy or making a donation,” the spokesperson said.
Following the meal, the trophy auction will be held.
Money raised at the annual banquet and trophy auction will go toward the many projects supported by the Greene County Cattlemen throughout the year. They continue to support a number of 4-H and youth activities and to participate in beef promotions at the county, state and national levels. A scholarship program for Greene County seniors has also been expanded in recent years thanks to the generosity of donors. The Cattlemen may also be seen throughout the county doing various cookouts.
Tickets for the banquet will be available only at the door this year. Donors in 2020 will receive a free entry.
Persons who want more information can contact one of the following board members: Mike Holden, Patrick Minnehan, Bob Bills, Tom Lawton, Justin Robbins, Tanner Lawton, Brandon Muir, Ben Gannon, Mike Klauer or Derek Kennedy.
The public is welcome to attend.
