Rippey Library news
~by Phyllis Bardole, librarian
The days before Christmas were busy, as several were in the library getting books to read over the holiday week.
Last week Larry and Phyllis Lepke came to the library bearing books! Phyllis’s sister Karilyn Brodell is a 30-year employee of the Valley Bookstore, the oldest book store in Jackson Hole, WY. The popular store is under new management and has moved recently to a new location. We have 19 “new” books now. They aren’t new, but they are to us. Karilyn has authored several books over the years that have been in our collection, as well.
There are five new LP western books that have gone out already. The Bird Box, by Josh Malerman and The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri have arrived.
I have ordered the Derecho book. I will be eager to know if any pictures were taken around Greene County.
I received word today that four more books are coming. Love, Zac, by Reid Forgrave , The Boy, the Mole, The Fox & the Horse, by Charlie Mackesy and Fannie Flagg’s, The Wonder Boy at Whistle Stop, and The book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate will be here Dec. 29.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and I for one am looking forward to the New Year. Let’s hope it is better than the last year.
Our Greene County Library Association will be meeting at the Jefferson library and then go over to the courthouse to meet with the supervisors. That will be our first in person meeting for the New Year.
I hope all take advantage of the vaccination, so it will be safe to get together again. Until then mask up, wash your hands, and stay safe.
