Jefferson police officers stayed busy during a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) Dec. 13-Jan. 1. During the two-week period, officers wrote 58 citations and issued 293 warnings. Six drivers were arrested for operating while intoxicated, two were arrested on other felony charges, and one was arrested on a narcotics charge.
