Elks support Ram Reader program

During a school year when many things are different for students, one thing hasn’t changed. The Ram Reader program at Greene County Elementary is doing well.

The students recently enjoyed a book distribution funded, in part, by a $1,000 donation from the Jefferson Elks lodge. The donation is in memory of the late Russ Johnson, a loyal Elk who passed away this summer. The lodge donated $705 received as memorials to Russ, along with another $295 to bring the total donation to $1,000.

Community groups and individuals who want to support the Ram Reader program, which provides every student with books of their own to take home and keep, can contact Greene County reading specialist Julie Neal.

These students are among those who picked out books at the Ram Reader book distribution.
