The Greene County cross country teams competed Sept. 28 in the Trojan Invitational hosted by West Marshall. The boys won the team title with an excellent score of 46. Three Rams placed in the top 10 with Logan Woodruff taking second, Luis Velazco third and Ethan Frederick ninth. South Hamilton was second with 67 points and Collins-Maxwell third with 78.
The girls team finished sixth with Conner Allender leading the team in 23rd place. Collins-Maxwell was the champion of the girls’ race.
“Very nice showing for our team,” commended coach Jeff Lamoureux. “We added this meet after having to cancel our home meet because of the weather. Sometimes it’s hard to get the team motivated when they weren’t expecting to run a meet but our kids really stepped up.”
Places and times among Ram male runners were Logan Woodruff, 2nd, 18:17; Luis Valazco, 3rd, 18:26; Ethan Frederick, 9th, 19:46; Jayden Carstensen, 13th, 20:01; Dakota Mobley, 19th, 20:31; Ethan Larsen, 21nd, 20:38; and Jax Carstensen, 30th, 21:52.
