Nancy and Dale Hanaman journey to Fort Dodge to visit the Fort Museum and Frontier Village. The actual fort was located in downtown Fort Dodge but there is one original building that was moved to the fort and museum site. The various buildings in the pioneer village have historical artifacts related to the Fort, that era and a wide range of Iowa history.

The Fort was in operation from 1851-1853 when Company E was ordered to return to Minnesota and establish  another fort there. There are items of interest for all ages and is well worth a visit and there are not many visitors during the week.

Dale and Nancy continued their trip to Dolliver State Park before returning home.

Jean Borgeson visited in  the home of Phyllis Gannon on Sunday afternoon. Yes, we keep our distance from each other and both of us agree how much we miss going places whenever we want! Phyllis’s granddaughter,  Teresa Hoyle (lovingly known as the “Dessert Lady,”) stopped by with her weekly treats. It made an otherwise long Sunday afternoon enjoyable. Still, we miss the hugs as we say our goodbyes!
