The Greene County Medical Center Foundation and auxiliary recently selected recipients for their 2020 scholarships.
The Greene County Medical Center Foundation offers a healthcare scholarship of up to $1,000 per year for up to four years to persons in the medical center service area who are entering or are already attending college in a healthcare field. This year a total of $6,000 was awarded to nine recipients: Madison Sigler, Megan Doran, Mae Joy Hughes, Teresa Davis, Hannah Stein, Hannah McConnell, Ellie Madson, Kaitlyn Stern and Kayla Promes.
The medical center auxiliary offers $500 scholarships to those in the medical center’s service area who are entering or already attending college in a healthcare field. This year, a total of $2,000 was awarded to four recipients: Ellie Madson, Hannah Stein, Hannah McConnell and Kayla Promes.
The purpose of both scholarships is to led financial aid to students to help obtain nursing education or education in a health-related field. Scholarships can also help ensure future healthcare professionals to help meet the future staffing needs of the medical center.
