Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Friday, July 31: At 9:50 am a deputy investigated a vicious dog complaint in the 300 block of Howard St in Rippey. At 12:47 pm the Greene County sheriff’s office and the Jefferson PD conducted a search warrant in the 1200 block of Westwood Drive. Stolen property was located and Juan Guzman, 33, of Jefferson was arrested for possession of stolen property*. At 3:36 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near Hillcrest Ave west of Jefferson. Dawn Rudolph, 55, of Scranton struck a deer with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, causing an estimated $5,000 damage to the vehicle. At 8:50 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near S Ave west of Grand Junction. Daniel Dawson, 48, of Manning struck a deer with a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, causing an estimated $4,000 damage.
Thursday, July 30: At 11:18 am a deputy investigated single vehicle rollover accident on County Road N-65 (D Ave) near 130th St in Cedar Township. Tyson Blanchfield, 18, of Lohrville swerved to miss a deer and rolled his 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, causing an estimated $10,000 damage to the truck. There were no injuries. At 2:30 pm a deputy investigated a UTV accident in the 2000 block of 175th St in Junction Township. Roger Stoline, 76, of Jefferson was backing his Polaris Ranger and struck his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. He was ejected from the UTV. Greene County Ambulance responded and transported Stoline to Greene County Medical Center. There was minor damage to both the truck and UTV. At 5:29 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of 7th St S in Grand Junction. At 9:02 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 237th St and S Ave in Grant Township. Monica Smith, 20, of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2017 Ford Fusion, causing an estimated $7,000 damage to the car. At 11:52 pm the sheriff, deputies, Grand Junction fire and rescue, Rippey fire, and Jefferson Fire responded to a house fire in the 600 block of 2nd St in Rippey. The house was a total loss. The fire has been ruled as arson. The occupants of the house had just moved out a few hours prior to the fire. One of the occupants had told a neighbor that they were going to light it on fire after they were out. The investigation continues as the sheriff’s office is requesting arrest warrants for arson.
Wednesday, July 29: At 7:51 am a deputy investigated a reported fire in the 1800 block of County Road E-18 (130th St) in Dawson Township. The residents were informed of the burn ban. At 8:24 pm a deputy assisted with a cockatoo that was caught in a garage in the 500 block of Main St in Paton. At 10:04 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 700 block of 215th St in Bristol Township. At 10:40 pm a deputy investigated complaint of the driver of a black truck throwing glass out of the window onto the street in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, July 28: At 7:01 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 600 block of North St in Churdan. At 7:37 am a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 600 block of B Ave in Cedar Township. At 12:37 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 400 block of Highway 144 in Paton Township. At 4:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 200 block of 19th St S in Grand Junction. At 6:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of Main St in Scranton.
Monday, July 27: At 7:44 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1300 block of 300 St in Franklin Township. At 1 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of assault in the 900 block of Main St in Scranton. At 2:09 pm a deputy investigated a theft complaint in the 1000 block of Main Street in Scranton. At 5:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 800 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 6:24 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of assault in the 600 block of B Ave in Cedar Township. At 7:46 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment regarding a civil issue in the county in the 200 block of 2nd St W in Grand Junction. At 9:43 pm a deputy investigated a possible anhydrous leak in the 2200 block of Highway 4 (Neola Ave) in Franklin Township.
Sunday, July. 26: At 4:09 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a burglary call in the 1700 block of N. Elm St. At 8:37 am deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1900 block of County Road P-14 (J Ave) in Greenbrier Township. At 10:38 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 900 block of 222nd St in Jackson Township. At 4:52 pm a deputy investigated a physical altercation taking place in the 1000 block of Sandoe St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, July 25: At 8:57 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 400 block of Hager St in Grand Junction. At 9:08 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 2000 block of 190th St in Junction Township. At 1:32 on a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 200 block of 6th St S in Grand Junction. At 1:38 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 800 block of Main St E in Grand Junction. At 2:30 pm a deputy arrested Chad Maurice Lehnoff, 46, of Grand Junction on an outstanding warrant for indecent exposure*. At 7:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of 250th St in Scranton Township.
Friday, July 24: At 2:21 pm a deputy assisted Manning police department with a theft complaint in our county. At 3:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in the 300 block of 13th St S in Grand Junction. At 3:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 300 block of E. Perry St in Jefferson. Kari Lorene Henson, 44, of Perry was arrested for trespass*. At 7:23 pm a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 700 block of County Road N-65 (D Ave) in Kendrick Township.
Thursday, July 23: At 4:44 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on County Road E-63 (320th St) and B Ave in Willow Township. Kaitlin Dahl, 28, of Coon Rapids was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger and struck a deer, causing an estimated $2,500 damage to the vehicle. At 7:34 am a deputy investigated a fire in the 1600 block of P Ave in Grant Township. The property owner was not aware of the burn ban and put the fire out. At 10:52 am the sheriff and Scranton fire department responded to a brush fire that had gotten out of control. The owner of the property was warned as they were not aware of the burn ban.
Wednesday, July 22: At 11:23 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a domestic assault in the 200 block of W. Adams St. At 2:31 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint near the Paton-Churdan school. At 5:33 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Main St E in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, July 21: At 9:30 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 1:33 pm a deputy arrested Andrew Jensen, 38, of Rippey for an arrest warrant for a parole violation*. At 7:15 pm a deputy assisted an Iowa State trooper on Highway 30 at Oakland Ave east of Jefferson with the arrest of Steven Schoessler, 48, on a Polk County warrant for failure to appear*. At 11:30 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of 190th St in Kendrick Township.
Monday, July 20: At 3:21 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 25 near 270th St south of Scranton. Jeffrey Hartl, 53, of Coon Rapids struck a deer with a 2000 Ford Explorer, causing an estimated $2,000 damage to the vehicle. At 1:30 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the area of M Ave and 180th St in Bristol Township. At 2:38 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a domestic abuse call. At 5:31 pm a deputy assisted the Carroll County sheriff’s office with trying to locate a stolen vehicle. At 9:25 pm a deputy investigated a fire in the 1000 block of E. Main St Scranton.
Sunday, July 19: At 12:11 am the sheriff, deputies, and Greene County Ambulance responded to an medical call of an unresponsive male at River Farm Recreation in Jackson Township. At 1:27 am a deputy investigated a sex assault at River Farm Recreation. At 6:16 am a deputy investigated a fight in the laundromat in Grand Junction. At 2:38 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 900 block of Linn St in Scranton. At 2:57 pm a deputy arrested Julie Wells, 53, of Somers on arrest warrants for possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense (three counts) and unlawful possession of prescription medications (two counts).* At 9:31 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Main St E in Grand Junction.
Saturday, July 18: At 12:44 am a deputy arrested Jon Bushman, 43, of Scranton in Scranton for operating while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor)*. At 2:01 am the sheriff conducted a welfare check on a vehicle from which people were hanging out of the doors on Highway 30 near County Road P-14 in Jackson Township. Several of the passengers stated they were drugged but feeling better. One passenger was cited for possession of alcohol underage. At 8:44 am a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Main and Chicago Sts in Scranton. Crystal Jordan, 35, of Churdan was westbound on Chicago St driving a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. She failed to yield the right of way and struck a northbound 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck driven by Lisa Owens, 37, of Scranton. Jordan was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $8,000. Damage to Owens’ vehicle was estimated at $3,000. At 1:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 2200 block of R Ave in Franklin Township. At 2:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of youngsters getting into the trunk of a car on County Road P-14 near 222nd St in Jackson Township. At 2:29 pm a deputy assisted with a dog running at large in the 700 block of Church St in Churdan. At 6:45 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave in Grant Township. At 6:56 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a pursuit on Highway 30 near Pioneer Ave east of Jefferson. At 7:05 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 2300 block of 170th St in Junction Township. At 8:34 pm the sheriff and a deputy located illegal narcotics in a vehicle at River Farm Recreation. This will be under investigation with charges pending. At 8:41 pm a deputy located illegal narcotics in a vehicle at River Farm Recreation. Investigation began with pending charges. At 11:36 pm a deputy investigated an assault while displaying a handgun at River Farm Recreation. Nicklaus Harrison, 21, of Forest City was arrested for assault causing bodily injury and carrying weapons*. At 11:45 pm the sheriff, deputies, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a medical call of an unresponsive male at River Farm Recreation.
Friday, July 17: At 1:37 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1800 block of D Ave in Scranton Township. At 4:56 pm a deputy assisted the Boone County sheriff’s office with a pursuit. At 9 pm a deputy investigated the violation of a no contact order by a jail inmate. Justin Cosnotti, 35, of Jefferson was charged with 20 counts of violation of a no contact order (simple misdemeanor)*. At 11:23 pm the sheriff, deputies, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a medical call of a possibly drugged female at River Farm Recreation in the 900 block of 222nd St in Jackson Township. At 11:26 pm the sheriff, deputies, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a medical call of a female ejected from a vehicle at River Farm Recreation.
Thursday, July 16: At 8:04 am a deputy removed a dead deer from the roadway on Highway 30 near County Road P-30 west of Grand Junction. At 11:10 am the sheriff and a deputy investigated an assault in the 200 block of N. Wise St in Paton. At 11:18 am the sheriff investigated a theft in the jail. Dakota Barrett, 20, of Grand Junction was charged with two counts of theft- third degree*. At 5:47 pm a deputy removed a dead deer from the roadway on Highway 30 near County Road P-14 west of Jefferson.
Wednesday, July 15: At 4:15 am a deputy assisted with getting cattle back in the fence on County Road N-58 (A Ave) near 280th St in Scranton Township. At 9:43 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1900 block of County Road P-14 (J Ave) in Greenbrier Township. At 12:35 pm a deputy investigated a fire in the 1200 block of Highway 144 north of Grand Junction. The fire was a controlled burn and the property owner was instructed to put it out due to the burn ban. At 10:02 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of Irving St in Scranton.
Tuesday, July 14: At 7:07 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Railroad St E in Grand Junction. At 5 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of 13th St S in Grand Junction. At 11:18 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Scranton.
Monday, July 13: At 1:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction. At 3:58 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Head St in Churdan. At 8:52 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with locating a strong odor of marijuana at N. Elm and W. Washington Sts. At 8:02 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on County Road N-65 (D Ave) and 195th St in Kendrick Township. Vera Marckmann, 59, of Fontanelle was southbound on N-65 when she struck a deer with her 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at less than $1,000.
Sunday, July 12: At 12:35 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of South 13th St S in Grand Junction. At 2:25 pm a deputy assisted the Carroll County sheriff’s office with trying to locate a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident. At 6:24 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Grand Junction. At 7:25 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with catching a goat that was running at large on Gallup Road.

Friday, July 10: At 12:16 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 2000 block of 295th St in Washington Township. At 4:15 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 600 block of 2nd St in Rippey.

Wednesday, July 8: At 9:47 am deputies and the Jefferson PD conducted a search warrant at 209 E. Russell St in Jefferson. Ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances were located. Justin Cosnotti was arrested for possession or control of firearms or ammunition while there is a protective order in effect, possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.* At 1:25 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in Churdan. At 5:25 pm a deputy located a concrete blowup in the roadway on County Road P-33 (R Ave) and near 120th St in Dawson Township.
Tuesday, July 7: At 11:28 am a deputy investigated single vehicle rollover accident in the 1100 block of L Ave in Bristol Township. Yordan Diaz Rodriguez, 41, of Storm Lake lost control of his 2004 Honda Accord and entered the ditch. The vehicle came to rest on its roof. The driver had gotten a ride to the Greene County Medical Center emergency room in a private vehicle. The vehicle was totaled in the accident. The accident is still under investigation with possible charges. At 10:35 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 144 near County Road E-18 east of Paton. Michael Reutzel, 50, of Somers lost control of his 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and rolled onto its side after hitting a raccoon. The vehicle was a total loss. No one was injured in the accident.
Monday, July 6: At 12:25 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in Churdan. At 2:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of indecent exposure in the 500 block of Main St W. in Grand Junction. At 5:01 pm a deputy investigated several fake 911 calls in the 500 block of Main St W. in Grand Junction. At 6:30 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 2000 block of 295th St in Washington Township. At 6:46 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 100 block of E. Percival St in Rippey. At 6:47 pm a deputy, Jefferson PD and Greene County Ambulance responded to a house fire in the 200 block of N. Cedar St in Jefferson.
Sunday, July 5: At 8:53 pm a deputy arrested William Griffin, 45, of Rippey on an arrest warrant for criminal mischief- first degree*. At 10:23 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near B Ave west of Scranton. Bonnie Orfield, 48, of Jefferson struck a deer with her 2016 Chevrolet Trax causing an estimated $2,500 in damage to the vehicle.
Saturday, July 4: Between 9:20 and 11:52 pm deputies responded to fireworks complaints on Highway 4 north of Jefferson, in Scranton and in Grand Junction.
Friday, July 3: At 6:25 am the sheriff and a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in responding to a domestic assault and arrest. Justin Cosnotti, 35, of Jefferson was arrested for willful injury causing bodily injury, domestic abuse assault- third offense, harassment- first degree, false imprisonment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine*. At 12:15 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in executing a search warrant in the 200 block of E. Russell St in Jefferson. At 1:34 pm a deputy and Scranton fire responded to a ditch fire on Highway 25 just north of the overpass in Scranton. At 6:47 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of W. Main St Grand Junction. At 9:16 pm a deputy and Grand Junction fire responded to a fire just north of the ethanol plant. The fire was a controlled burn.
Thursday, July 2: At 2:38 pm a deputy arrested Richard Rowland, 54, of Jefferson on arrest warrants for child endangerment (two counts)*.
Wednesday, July 1: At 7:45 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of W. Main St in Grand Junction. At 2:17 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 2000 block of 305th St in Washington Township.
