Greene County district court, week ending June 25

In Greene County district court Kenneth Lee Molle, 82, of Jefferson was sentenced June 23 to one year in the county jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He may complete a 48-hour weekend offender program in lieu of the jail time. He must also complete a community college drinking drivers course, and he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Molle was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must pay a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Joshua Troy Smithson, 42, of Ladora, driving while license barred, two separate cases; Adam Joseph Harvey, 43, of Grand Junction, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana; Justin Joe Downs, 34, of Churdan, theft- fourth degree, criminal mischief- third degree, and assault causing injury or mental illness; Tanisha Rice, 45, of Scranton, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, and in a separate case, domestic abuse assault display or use weapon; Mason Scott Myers, 23, of Webster City, OWI- second offense; and Peter Edward Miover, 49, of Boone, OWI- second offense. Trial dates were set for Sept. 29 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Jerry Eugene Miller, 36, of West Des Moines has been charged with burglary- third degree (two counts) and theft- second degree (two counts). The warrant was issued March 20 and returned May 13.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Mason Edward Burkett, 21, of Grand Junction, OWI- first offense; Juan Angel Guzman, 33, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow; and Scott Cram, 32, of Bagley, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
