The Ram softball team was held scoreless as they lost to the PCM Mustangs to fall to 1-3 on Wednesday, June 24.
Freshman Emma Hoyle got the start for the Rams on Wednesday. In five innings of work, Hoyle allowed eight earned runs and one unearned run. Hoyle gave up seven hits while walking two batters, hitting another and striking out two more. Eighth Grader Kylee Stalder came on in relief and did not give up a run in her one inning of work. Stalder held the Mustangs hitless while walking one batter and striking out another.
At the plate, the Rams collected three hits, all of which were singles. Izzy Bravard, Carmyn Paup and Emma Stream were the ones to collect those singles.
In the field, the Rams committed four errors with three of them coming in the infield.
The Mustangs were able to jump to an early lead by scoring one run in each of the first two innings. The Mustangs were able to add to their lead in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring a total of six runs between the two. The Rams were unable to gain any momentum at the plate as they failed to score any runs.
The Rams look to end their three-game skid as they travel to Story City to take on the Roland-Story Norsemen Thursday.
