Ram baseball falls 8-1 to PCM

Greene County baseball suffered their fifth consecutive loss of the season on Wednesday, June 24.

Sophomore Bryce Stalder took the mound to start the game against the PCM Mustangs. Stalder allowed one earned run and three unearned runs. Stalder gave up four hits, walked one batter and struck out two more. Junior Alex Roberts took the mound in relief and allowed two earned runs and two unearned runs. Roberts gave up three hits and walked four batters while striking out another. 

The Rams pitchers led the day at the plate on Wednesday. While the team compiled three hits, they all came from pitchers Stalder and Roberts. Stalder was able to provide two singles while Roberts gave the other.

In the field, the Rams suffered five costly errors.

The Rams struggled to get anything going offensively while the PCM Mustangs left them in the dust after the third inning. The Mustangs were able to put two runs up on the board in each of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings while the Rams were able to muster no more than a single consolation run in the top of the sixth inning. The final score of this game was 8-1.

The Rams will continue to search for their first win of the season against the Roland-Story Norsemen on Thursday, June 25.
