No COVID press briefing, but numbers roll in

Gov Kim Reynolds did not hold a COVID-19 press briefing Wednesday as she’s traveling to Washington, D.C., to meet with President Trump. She said Tuesday she would fly by private jet with the cost coming from her campaign fund.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 293 additional positive cases of COVID-19 during the 24 hours preceding Tuesday at 10 am. That brings the total number of positive cases in Iowa to 10,404 (0.003 percent of the total population).

There have been an additional 2,309 negative tests for a total of 52,767 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs. As of this reporting period, one in 50 (2 percent) of Iowans have been tested.

Greene County has reported a total of 11 cases of COVID-19, with two patients being adults age 18-41; six being age 41-60; and three age 61-80.

Contiguous counties have reported cases as follows: Calhoun, 1; Carroll, 5; Guthrie, 31; Dallas, 626 with three deaths; Boone, 29; and Webster 8.

According to IDPH, an additional 12 deaths were also reported, bringing the total deaths to 219.
