Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Tuesday, March 31: At 9:38 am a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 500 block of N 16th St in Grand Junction. At 3:32 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious person on Highway 30 near County Road P-33 (S Ave).Monday, March 30: At 3:27 pm a deputy and the Churdan fire department responded to a field fire on County Road E-19 (140th St) near F Ave in Cedar Township. At 3:52 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a grass fire in the 1500 block of 222nd St in Grant Township. At 8:57 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 700 block of North St in Churdan.
Sunday, March 29: At 3:50 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 100 block of W 2nd St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, March 28: Nothing reported.
Friday, March 27: At 7:07 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near County Road P-14 (J Ave). Heather Mueggenberg, 47, of Glidden struck a deer with a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, causing an estimated $7,000 damage the vehicle. At 12:17 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 500 block of S. 13th St in Grand Junction. At 3:31 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint in the 800 block of High St in Scranton.
Thursday, March 26: At 10:20 am a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 1700 block of 280th St in Franklin Township. At 3:58 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 300 block of S. 7th St in Grand Junction. At 7:50 pm a deputy found a large gap in the railroad crossing at County Road P-33 (S Ave) just south of Highway 30. He requested Union Pacific come repair it.
Wednesday, March 25: At 3:07 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 600 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 8:34 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 800 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 8:42 pm a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 30 near County Road P-14 (J Ave) west of Jefferson. Amanda Erritt, 24, of Jefferson lost control of her 2016 Chevrolet Cruze and entered the ditch. Erritt was cited for failure to maintain control. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Tuesday, March 24: At 1:58 am a deputy investigated a burglary n the 700 block of S. 14th St in Grand Junction. Daniel Newton, 30, of Grand Junction was charged with trespass and an arrest warrant has been requested on a charge of burglary- third degree*.
Monday, March 23: At 6:42 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 9-1-1 call in the 2200 block of 250th St in Junction Township. At 7:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of Hills Ave in Churdan.
Sunday, March 22: Deputies investigated abandoned 9-1-1 calls as follows: 4:30 pm, 2200 block of 250th St in Junction Township; 11:16 am, 1600 block of 267th St in Franklin Township; and 9:48 pm, 1000 block of 11th St in Scranton.
Saturday, March 21: At 8:10 am a deputy investigated a 9-1-1 hang up call in Grand Junction. At 1:51 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in Farlin. At 3:43 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of drivers on four-wheelers trespassing at Pound Pits on 195th St in Bristol Township. At 6:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass on 325 St and Apple Ave in Willow Township. At 8:01 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 30 near County Road P-14 (J Ave) west of Jefferson. Wade Adcock, 20, of Jefferson struck a deer with his 2011 Chrysler 20. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
Friday, March 20: At 7:12 am a deputy, Grand Junction and Rippey fire departments and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on U Ave just south of Rippey. Cheyanne Anderson, 22, of Jefferson was southbound driving a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck when she lost control of the vehicle. It entered the ditch and rolled several times. Anderson was transported by Greene County Ambulance to Greene County Medical Center.
Thursday, March 19: At 1:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief at the Pleasant Hill memorial.
Wednesday, March 18: At 2:26 am a deputy investigated a complaint of someone cutting down trees in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 10:54 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 100 block of 185th St in Kendrick Township.
Tuesday, March 17: At 2:55 pm a deputy investigated a phone scam in Grand Junction. At 3:30 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a grass fire in the 1200 block of Pioneer Ave in Hardin Township. At 4:05 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Rippey.
Monday, March 16: At 11 am a deputy investigated a theft at Slininger Woods gun range west of Jefferson. At 11:53 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 500 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 5 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 900 block of 110th St in Highland Township.
Sunday, March 15: At 2:49 pm deputies assisted Churdan fire and Jefferson fire with structure fire in the 300 block of D Ave in Cedar Township. Greene County Ambulance and Lohrville fire department were also at the scene assisting. At 5:52 pm a deputy investigated a stolen vehicle complaint in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Saturday, March 14: At 4:54 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 700 block of 14th St S in Grand Junction.
Friday, March 13: At 11:15 am a deputy assisted with recovered property in the 900 block of Irving St in Scranton. At 1:05 pm a deputy investigated a vicious dog complaint in the 300 block of 4th St in Rippey. At 4:26 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson fire department with a ditch fire in the 1200 block of O Ave in Hardin Township. At 9:29 pm deputies checked a residence in the 2200 block of R Ave in Franklin Township for a subject with an active warrant. In the process of apprehending the subject a deputy was bit by a dog on the property. At 10:02 pm Jason Dean Smits, 37, of Jamaica, was booked into the Greene County Jail for charges of false report to public entity and driving while license barred*.
Thursday, March 12: At 2:22 am a deputy located and investigated a stolen vehicle in 600 block of Highway 30 East in Jefferson. At 4:35 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a possible fire call in the 800 block of S. Chestnut St. At 10:39 am a deputy had located a subject in Scranton with an active warrant. Daman David Zimpel, 29, of Scranton was arrested for failure to appear on a previous charge of theft- fifth degree.* He was transported to the Greene County jail. At 6:50 pm Kaleb Lee Lentz, 25, of Scranton, was booked into the Greene County jail for driving while license denied or revoked*. At 7:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. Rodney James Blackmon, 24, was located and arrested on a Guthrie County warrant.
Wednesday, March 11: At 12:29 am a deputy investigated a complaint of disorderly conduct in the in Grand Junction. At 12:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of violation of a no contact order in Paton. At 10:40 am a deputy assisted Churdan Fire and Rescue in Churdan.
Tuesday, March 10: At 4:39 pm a deputy investigated a burglary complaint in the 300 block of Rebecca St in Grand Junction. At 5:20 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1600 block of 267th St in Franklin Township. At 8:19 pm deputies responded to an 911 call with a possible domestic in action in the 1000 block of Main St East in Grand Junction. The investigation led to the arrest of Brooklyn Sage Powell, 21, of Grand Junction on charges of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia*.
Monday, March 9: At 9:43 am a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in Grand Junction. At 3:10 pm a deputy investigated a stray dog located in the 2300 block of 325th St in Washington Township.
Sunday, March 8: At 5:14 pm a deputy assisted the Grand Junction fire department at the 16th St railroad crossing in Grand Junction. At 9:20 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 700 block of Main St in Scranton.
Saturday, March 7: At f1:43 am a deputy investigated a vehicle-deer accident in the 1000 block of Eaton Ave in Bristol Township. Cassie Lynn Lentz, 27, of Scranton was northbound on Eason Ave when she struck a deer with her 2011 GMC Arcadia. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500. At 7:43 am a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of A Ave and 165th St in Kendrick Township. Chiara Lynn Anderson, 17, of Jefferson was northbound on A Ave and lost control where the pavement transitioned to gravel. She entered the east ditch, striking the embankment. Her vehicle rolled over and landed on its wheels in the field. No injuries were reported. Damage to the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT was estimated a $5,000.
Friday, March 6: At 9:29 am a deputy assisted with a dog at large in the 1000 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 1:18 pm a deputy assisted the Scranton fire department with a fire in the area of 200th St and G Ave in Bristol Township. At 1:25 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of possible can hoarding in the 100 block of 310th St in Willow Township. At 8:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of ATVs in the area of the 100 block of N. College St in Paton.
Thursday, March 5: At 5:41 am a deputy investigated a vehicle-deer accident in the 800 block of Highway 30 east of Scranton. Jacy Lynn Newton, 28, of Grand Junction was westbound when multiple deer came out of the north ditch. A deer struck the front driver’s side of Newton’s 2013 Ford Fusion causing an estimated $1,000 damage to it.
Wednesday, March 4: At 9:35 am a deputy assisted with a dog at large located in the area of 800 Eagle St in Scranton. At 4:59 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog bite in the 800 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Tuesday, March 3: At 9:46 am a deputy investigated a suspicious 911 call in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. At 11:45 am a deputy investigated a phone scam in the 1200 block of 150th St in Highland Township. At 1:30 pm a deputy investigated harassment complaint in the 900 block of Sand St in Churdan.
Monday, March 2: At 8:25 am a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 100 block of A Ave in Cedar Township.
Sunday, March 1: At 5:55 pm a deputy assisted with a dog running at large in the 1100 block of Highway 144 (U Ave) in Junction Township. The deputy transported the dog to the animal shelter in Jefferson.
