Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association, whose customers include many residents in northern Greene County, is among IT providers in Iowa that took the FCC’s “Keep Americans Connected Pledge” to provide internet during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pledge is a commitment for the next 60 days not to terminate residential or small business accounts, waive late fees, and open wifi hotspots to those that need them.
Other IT providers in Iowa that took the pledge include BEVCOMM, Clear Lake Telephone Company, Farmers Mutual Co-Op, Long Lines Broadband, Northwest Communications Cooperative, Premier Communications, Centurylink, Mediacom, Cox, Verizon, US Cellular and Windstream.
The companies are among the 185 nationwide that are committed to keep the country online.
