Jayme Ungs has been selected as the new market president of the Peoples Bank Jefferson location. John Rigler III, president & COO of Peoples Bank, made the announcement last week.
Ungs brings a significant amount of expertise to the Peoples Bank team with direct emphasis in agriculture and commercial banking. His most recent experience includes serving as a commercial team lead with U.S. Bank, N.A., in Boone. His position included the management of a team of bankers located throughout the state.
Ungs is currently a member of the Boone High School Booster Club and past member of Rotary, Boone County Cattlemen, and Boone County Pork Producers.
Prior to entering the banking industry in 1997, Ungs worked in the swine and seed business. He also spent nine years on the Iowa Agricultural Development Association’s (IADA’s) board of directors, including two years as board chairman. Ungs takes great pride in assisting Iowa’s next generation of young farmers to establish and expand their farming operations, a corporate press release stated. Agriculture has been in his heart ever since growing up on his family’s dairy farm in eastern Iowa.
Ungs’ educational experience include a bachelor of science in agricultural business as well as a second major in business finance from Iowa State University. He also completed the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ungs looks forward to meeting people throughout Greene County and assisting with their banking needs at Peoples Bank.
