In Greene County district court Amanda Ruth Breckinridge, 31, of Mingo was sentenced. Feb. 26 to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of burglary- third degree (motor vehicle.). The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. She must participate in Polk County drug court as ordered in another judgment. Breckinridge was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. She must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $10 restitution to the victim. Court costs were $100. A charge of unauthorized use of credit was dismissed, as well as a charge in magistrate court of theft- fifth degree, as part of a plea agreement. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Micheal Allen Clement, 60, of Boone was sentenced to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge, and a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge. He must pay $147.65 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Charles Andrew Kaufman, 57, of Perry was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- third offense. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Department of Correctional Services for two years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, and no more than $196 in court costs, restitution for his court appointed attorney, etc. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Jose Carmen Diaz Corona, 58, of Perry was sentenced to 10 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. He was not fined but he must pay sheriff’s room and board for the jail time her serves and $100 court costs (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Jessica Jo Peterson, 36, of Ogden, burglary- third degree; Travis Austin Smith, 28, of Churdan, driving while license barred; Nicholas Weber, 19, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; Courtney Kern, 33 of Jamaica, driving while license barred; Juan Angel Guzman, 32, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated- first offense; Craig Russell Louk, 60, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense; Brent Tracy Stoner, 56, of Jefferson, OWI- second offense; and Seth Michael Butler, 31, of Jefferson, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for April 7 in every case.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Heather Marguerite Schulz, 32, of Algona has been charged with theft- third degree (five counts). The case was initiated Nov. 1, 2019; the warrant was returned Feb. 27.
