Anyone dealing with symptoms of cabin fever is invited to learn if Greene County’s “Plant Doctor,” also known as Jean Walker, can help.
Walker has scheduled a demonstration to help attendees get some green plants growing in their household now, or to help design a plan for container gardening later this spring.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 1 pm Walker will provide instructions on how to make a self-watering planter using a plastic tote and PVC pipe. This free will donation fundraiser for the Thomas Jefferson Gardens will be held at the Welcome Center. The primary purpose is to generate funds for the purchase of perennial plants to provide additional color for the summer gardens at the TJ Gardens.
Participants will receive instructions on how to create the self-watering planter. Walker will also provide suggestions regarding the types of plants that may be successfully grown in the tote.
Walker always has helpful tips for those with green thumbs and those yearning to have a green thumb.
“Come join us at the Welcome Center, and learn a method to reduce cabin fever,” A TJ Gardens board member said.
