Applications for scholarships offered by the Greene County Medical Center Foundation and the medical center auxiliary are now being accepted with a deadline of March 18, 2020.
The foundation offers a scholarship of up to $1,000 per year for up to four years to persons in the medical center’s service area who are entering or already attending college in a healthcare field.
In addition, the auxiliary offers six $500 scholarships to persons in the medical center’s service area who are entering or already attending college in a healthcare field. The auxiliary scholarship requires a 15-minute interview, which will be scheduled either the morning of Saturday, April 4, or the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8.
The purpose of both scholarships is to lend financial aid to students in the medical center’s service area to help obtain nursing education or education in a health-related field. Scholarships can also help ensure future healthcare professionals to help meet the future staffing needs of the medical center.
Scholarship applications, as well as references and transcripts, are due by Wednesday, March 18. Interview appointments can be set up immediately.
Complete rules, application forms and requirements have been sent to area high schools and are also available at the medical center’s website at www.gcmchealth.com under the “About” tab.
All applications, references and transcripts must be sent or delivered to Tori Jamison at Greene County Medical Center, 1000 W. Lincoln Way, Jefferson, IA 50129 by the deadline. Persons who want more information or to set up an interview time can contact Jamison at 515-386-0102.
