The Thomas Jefferson Gardens board will hold the second “Meet your Legislator” of the 2020 Session on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Welcome Center on the southeast side of the square in Jefferson.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 am, which is earlier than previous events. This added time comes at the request of a Jefferson resident, and the TJ Gardens board is pleased the elected officials agreed to a lengthened visit.
Since the previous “Meet your Legislator” session held in January, Behn has announced he will retiring at the end of this term. He has served 23 years as an elected representative of Boone, and Greene County and portions of Story and Webster Counties.
Previous Editor of the Jefferson Bee and Herald, Rick Morain, has once again been recruited to serve as moderator for the informative interactive session.
Thomas Jefferson strongly believed a knowledgeable and active electorate was necessary for a Democracy. The Board is pleased to host public service event such as these to sustain that legacy and to maintain Jefferson’s philosophy.
The public is invited and welcome to attend. Greene County and Paton-Churdan students are encouraged to also participate.
Light refreshments will be served by the Thomas Jefferson Gardens board.
