In Greene County magistrate court Jason William Sheldahl of Jefferson was sentenced Jan. 28 to seven days in jail on a charge of violation of a no contact order. He will receive credit for time served. Court costs were $90. In a related case, Sheldahl was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of false report to public entity. Jeanne Elizabeth Thompson of Fort Dodge was sentenced to 30 days in jail on each of two counts of theft- fifth degree. On each jail term, all but two days was suspended; she will serve a total of four days in jail. She was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County probation for one year. Thompson was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge on each charge. Two counts of theft- fifth degree were dismissed.
Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending Jan. 31 as follows: Brett Michael Roberts of Ottumwa, domestic abuse assault- first offense; Christopher Allen Hay of Carroll, criminal mischief- fifth degree; Joshua Leo LeClair of Churdan, violation of no contact order; and Brittennie Elizabeth LeClair of Churdan, violation of no contact order.
