The Scranton park and rec department’s first monthly BINGO contest was “weathered out” February 17. While the heavy snow had stopped by the game time, everyone was still busy digging out. The games have been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 24. The time has been changed to 4 – 6 pm for this week only.

World Day of Prayer March 1
The Scranton United Methodist Church will observe the Worldwide Day of Prayer Friday, March 1, at 2 pm in the Fellowship Hall. A program will be presented followed by refreshments. A Greene County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a dog at McMahon Access in Jackson Township early Saturday evening. Sheriff Jack Williams explained the dog had bitten a person in the face at McMahon Access and was running loose in the woods. The responding deputy located the dog while the victim was taken to the emergency room.
