Cool weather slowing crop development

Rain across most of Iowa improved dry soil conditions during the week ending Aug. 25,  according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. Statewide there were 5.0 days suitable for fieldwork. Reporters throughout the state mentioned the need for warmer weather as cooler than normal temperatures have slowed crop development. Trash carts to be delivered this week

Jefferson residents will find new blue trash carts on their property some time this week, but the carts should remain unused for another week. A crew from Elliot Equipment will be in Jefferson this week to assemble and deliver more than 1,600 Shaefer trash carts. The trash carts belong to the city and will be stamped with a serial number.…
