The Greene County eighth grade girls’ volleyball team hosted Saydel on Monday, Sept. 23. The Rams won the B and C matches and lost the A match. Games scores were A: 17-21, 21-14, 12-15; B: 21-6, 21-6, 21-13, 21-8; C: 21-7, 17-21, 15-7, 15-14
Top servers were Savanna Shell served 20/21 with 14 aces; Makayla Betts served 14/15 with 6 aces; Tia Gierstorf served 23/25 with 7 aces; Grace Hardaway served 11/12 with 2 aces.
“Overall, we served 80 percent by serving 150/188 with 69 aces,” praised coach Teresa Green. “This is a great improvement from the 71 percent we had in our first match. The girls continue to improve and run our offense.”
The Rams hosted Nevada on Tuesday, September 24, losing all nine games.Game scores were A: 4-21, 8-21, 14-21; B: 18-21, 15-21, 6-21; C: 12-21, 15-21, 14-15.

“We struggled with our serve receive tonight and could not get our offense set up,” noted Coach Green.
The eighth grade team traveled to Roland-Story Sept. 26 for A-B-C matches. The Rams came away with one win and eight losses. Game scores were A: 9-21, 15-21, 5-21; B: 14-21, 21-19, 14-18; C: 11-21, 13-21, 20-25
