Vicky Lautner will be honored at an open house marking her retirement as Jefferson park and rec director at an open house Thursday, Oct. 3, from 3 to 5:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center. The open house is hosted by the park and recreation board. All are invited to attend and celebrate Lautner’s years of service.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 28, at Abundant Life Ministries for Marilyn Ann Copeland, 85, of Jefferson. The Rev Mary Jane Oakland, assisting priest at St John’s by the Campus Episcopal Church in Ames, offered words of comfort. Music included “Love Divine” recorded by Julie Tvedt, and Gary Haupert as soloist with Sheryl Sloan as accompanist.
