In Greene County District court Erick Paul Johnson, 48, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 6 to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of dependent adult abuse- serious. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for one year. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. Johnson was also found guilty of dependent adult abuse- simple. On that charge he was sentenced to 10 days in jail; he must pay sheriff’s room and board charges for the time he serves. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge; both were suspended. A judgment was entered for $10,032.53 victim restitution He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney not to exceed $1,600. Levi Joe Shield, 21, of Templeton was sentenced Sept. 5 to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. He must pay sheriff’s room and board charges for the time he serves. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also complete a community college drinking drivers school. In lieu of the jail time and the community college school he may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program. Shield was fined $1,250 with a $437.5 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must also pay a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge and $140 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Brianne Kara Wolf, 29, of Grand Junction has been charged with assault on person in certain occupation with intent to inflict serious injury. An arrest warrant was issued Aug. 15 and returned Sept. 9.

Hose, 42, of Churdan, possession of marijuana- first offense; Brandon A. Frederiksen, 26, of Omaha, NE, possession of marijuana- second offense, unlawful possession of prescription medication (three counts), and child endangerment; and Sheral Louise Coppick, 61, of Carroll, OWI- second offense.
