Iowa State University Extension & Outreach – Greene County is offering a series of classes that will provide strategies for using time, money and skills wisely to same money and prepare nutritious and safe foods.
Sessions will be held Tuesdays, Sept. 10, 17 and 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Extension office in Jefferson.
The first session will focus on slow cooker meals. Participants will explore the benefits of using a slow cooker, food safety tips, and meal ideas.
The second session is tailored to small households, with strategies to make the most out of cooking for a household of one or two.
The third session, ”Cook now, Enjoy later,” will discuss how planning can reduce stress, save money, and provide a family nutritious, home-cooked meals.
There is a $30 charge for the series. Participants are asked to pay the entire charge regardless of the number of sessions they’re able to attend. Registration can be done online at http://bit.ly/hh13237. The registration deadline is Sept. 6.
