Children who will enter kindergarten later this month were invited to attend the Jefferson park and recreation department’s annual Safety Camp this past week.
This year the local Elks lodge donated $200 to cover the cost of the camp. Children learned about safety in many places and situations including school bus safety, water safety, Stranger Danger, poison and drug safety, weather safety, pet safety, fire safety and more.
Sydney Schiltz was instructor, assisted by several local experts who visited the camp.
